Syracuse and Virginia got the ACC/B1G Challenge off to a good start with wins on Monday night. Syracuse won a close one thanks to Tyus Battle's clutch play (see below). Virginia won a low scoring battle (insert all the jokes here) against Wisconsin in the late game.

After being a game-time decision with a sore back, Syrcause's Tyus Battle dropped a team-high 18 points, including a clutch go-ahead three-pointer with just over a minute left, in the Orange's 72-70 win over Maryland in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Battle scored nine of his 18 points in the last four minutes of the game.
