TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Florida State, which has won seven consecutive games against Georgia Tech, travels to play the Yellow Jackets in the newly refurbished McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in the only regular season meeting between the two teams. The Seminoles' game against the Yellow Jackets marks the only meeting of the season between the two conference schools for the third consecutive season. Florida State and Georgia Tech met only once during the 2010-11 season (a 72-63 Seminole win on February 10, 2011 in Atlanta) and only once during the 2011-12 season (a 68-54 Seminole win on February 1, 2012 in Tallahassee) and last met in a traditional two-game regular season series during the 2009-10 season which resulted in a sweep of the season series by the Seminoles. Following their game against Georgia Tech, the Seminoles will play at Wake Forest on Saturday (February 9 at 12 Noon) before returning home to play host to Miami on February 13 (7:00 p.m.) and Boston College on February 16 (12 Noon).
THE FLATS - Following an important home-court victory over Virginia on Saturday, Georgia Tech turns around quickly to host defending Atlantic Coast Conference champion Florida State in a 9 p.m. regionally-televised game Tuesday at McCamish Pavilion.
Tech (12-8, 2-6 ACC) got back on the winning track Sunday with a 66-60 victory over second-place Virginia, snapping the Cavaliers' four-game conference winning streak and improving its record at McCamish Pavilion to 10-2 at this season. The Yellow Jackets are averaging more than five points a game higher in conference play this season than they did a year ago.
