THE FLATS - Following an 18-point victory over Tulane in front of a sellout crowd Friday night, Georgia Tech continues its 98th season of basketball Wednesday night at 7 p.m. by hosting Presbyterian at the brand-new McCamish Pavilion.

The game can be heard on the radio over the Georgia Tech IMG Sports Network (790 AM, 106.7 FM in Atlanta), as well as Ch. 117 on Sirius and XM satellite radio. The game also can be viewed online at ESPN3.

Gregory has all five starters and seven letterwinners back from a team that went 11-20 a year ago and exhibited a new look of hustle, work ethic and fight. The Yellow Jackets also have added five scholarship newcomers, a recruiting class rated as high as 14th in the nation, adding depth and flexibility to every position on the floor.

ATLANTA -- Opening night was a huge moment for Georgia Tech basketball. McCamish Pavilion had its grand opening. Almost 200 former lettermen, staff members and coaches were on hand. The new palace was full and rocking. And Tech responded to the adrenaline rush by beating Tulane.

Now, it’s back to reality.

There won’t be nearly the hoopla in place Wednesday night when Presbyterian comes to town. The stands won’t be nearly as full, the atmosphere won’t be as frenetic, and the motivation won’t be as obvious. It will be interesting to see how the Yellow Jackets bounce back from the 79-61 opening win Friday over Tulane.

“When we came out of that tunnel (for the opener) and I got out there and I saw it and I saw the students, I just thought, ‘Whoa,’ ” head coach Brian Gregory said. “You could feel the energy throughout the whole building.
