2018 Grades and Rankings for the ACC Basketball Coaches (13-15)

There is still another week of college basketball left, but without an ACC Team in the Final 4, we can go ahead and take a look back at the season and give the ACC basketball coaches some grades.

Remember the post-season is like a Final – some coaches pulled up their grade and some are going to take a hit. We started with the bottom of ACC coaches this year.

If coaches get the same grade, my ranking breaks the tie.

Coaching grades and rankings : 1-4 | 5-8 | 9-12 | 13-15

13) Josh Pastner, Georgia Tech – C-

The 2016-2017 ACC COY hit a wall last this past year. Predicted by many to be a fringe NCAA team, the Yellow Jackets took early season losses to Grambling, Wofford and Wright State. Sure there were a ton of injuries, but a 13 win season is still a 13 win season. The Yellow Jackets never even approached the NCAA bubble this year.

14) Danny Manning, Wake Forest – D

Danny Manning followed up a 2017 NCAA Tournament season at Wake Forest with a mess of a 2018 year. Wake Forest won just 4 ACC games and 11 total. I thought there was some talent on this team. They shouldn’t have been this bad. It seemed like every other Wake Forest possession was a turnover waiting to happen. Question marks surround Manning’s future going into next year.

15) Kevin Stallings, Pittsburgh – F

Could Kevin Stallings get anything other than a F? He lost all 19 ACC games he coached this year. He got fired, and has left the Pittsburgh program in complete shambles. His 2 year tenure could take several years to fix at Pitt.
