We are less than 2 weeks from the start of the college football season. Yes that’s right… I cannot wait. What are the ACC Bloggers talking about with the season starting so soon?

Is former Clemson star Dwight Clark a possibility as the new AD at Clemson? ShakintheSouthland thinks he might be a good choice…   Back in 1981 Clark became a San Francisco 49er hero. Dwight Clark’s last minute catch from Joe Montana sent the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl and the beginning of their 1980s/90s dynasty, and effectively ended the Cowboy’s dynasty until the arrival Jimmy Johnson.

Arguably Florida State’s toughest game of 2012 will be a road trip to Virginia Tech. Tomahawk takes a look at the Hokies in his article “Nole Your Opponent: Pre-Snap Read On Virginia Tech.”

Check out the news and notes from Virginia Tech’s Saturday scrimmage at Gobbler Country. Sounds like the ACC better keep an eye on freshman RB J.C. Coleman.

Here’s an interesting piece from Georgia Tech blog From the Rumble Seat where they try to dispel the myth that extra time helps prepare teams for the Triple Option.  I don’t really buy into this theory as well. For example in the Jackets 4 bowl losses under Paul Johnson, LSU and Iowa manhandled the Jackets upfront, Georgia Tech played very poorly against Air Force, and the Jackets outplayed Utah for much of last year’s game until a late collapse. It’s like any other offense, you win the line scrimmage you win the game. You play badly and you are going to lose too.

More NC State\Tennessee previewing from BackingthePack. In this post they compare the coaches Tom O’Brien and Derek Dooley. If this is just about the coaches I’m taking State by 14. Dooley will be out of Tennessee in 2 years.

The question of the day at Virginia is just how long is QB Michael Rocco going to old off ultra talented transfer Phillip Sims? I think Rocco is the clear starter, and probably will be throughout the first half of the season. It’s like anywhere, as long UVA is winning, he’ll play.
