Summer Michelle Pence

11/01/2006: Summer went to her cousin Avery's 1st birthday a couple weeks ago, and her and several other boys and girls had a great time. Summer is getting into her terrible 2's a little early, and will get an attitude at time. Her new favorite show is The Wiggles, and she loves to play with Shawn.

09/22/2006: I know, I've been bad about updating the site, but I'm not sure who even still checks it, but I'll update it to make Shannon happy. Summer is now 18 months old, and tries to say pretty much anything we ask her to. She just started saying "Love you" and "Shawn", and loves watching Blue's Clues now. At her 18 month checkup, the doctor went on and on about how socialable she is.

07/05/2006: Summer is now almost 16 months, and says around 10 words (doggy, happy, daddy, mommy, bye bye, bible, cheese, please, apple, Dusty, hey baby, etc). She also can make a horse noise and do a doggy noise.

04/11/2006: Since I last posted, Summer had her first birthday. Although we put the cake in front of her, she really didn't eat much, but chose to just play with it. She blows kisses now, will help Shannon count, by saying two if Shannon says one and loves to eat. She has 8 teeth now; her front 4 on both top and bottom.

02/21/2006: As you can see from the pictures, Summer witnessed her first snow. She is walking really well now, and definitely developing a personality and loves watching her big brother. This past weekend we went to see Uncle Matt, Aunt Beth, and Cousin Avery up in Elkin, NC. Summer grabbed Avery's hand, and was interested in her cousin.

01/17/2006: Summer is almost 10 months now and is walking pretty well, and has her 6 teeth either in or coming in. She says a few words, like Dusty (Grandad and Gram's dalmatian), Momma, and Daddy, gives five, plays peek-a-boo, and is a really good baby.

12/15/2005: Summer took her first steps.

11/28/2005: Summer has her front two top and bottom teeth now, and loves to walk while holding on to our fingers for help. She likes to clap and is learning to wave.

10/23/2005: Summer has a cousin now, Avery Hope Pence was born on 10/21/2005 at 10:45 and was 7 lbs 3 oz and was 20 inches long. View pictures here.

10/20/2005: Summer said Dadda today! Of course, Shannon disputes it isn't really a word.

09/26/2005: In the last month, Summer has begun to pull up on items. During her last doctor's appointment she was in the following percentiles, 60th in height and 40th in weight, so she's tall and skinny.

08/29/2005: Summer went on her first camping trip!

08/29/2005: Summer has her 2 bottom teeth coming in, and can now sit up on her own.

08/21/2005: Summer has cut her first tooth and is able to sit up by herself, although she still needs a little help getting up.

08/12/2005: Summer has started to crawl (or scoot) in the past week. She loves to crawl to people, although it does take a while.

07/11/2005: Summer made her first trip to Kentucky this weekend. She travelled very well, sleeping most of the time or playing with a number of toys that she brought. She is now reaching out and grabbing things, including her toes. Everything goes directly to her mouth, again, including her toes.

06/01/2005: Tonight marked Summer's first night in her crib.

05/25/2005: Summer just rolled over from her back to her stomach just minutes ago!

05/17/2005: Today marked her 2 month checkup which meant 3 shots for Summer. Needless to say, she was pretty unhappy, and slept for a couple of hours after her appointment.

05/08/2005: Summer slept through the night for the first time last night! She went to bed around 11 and woke up around 7, not too bad!

05/02/2005: Summer has now successfully rolled from her back to her side. She will usually sleep through most of the night, usually waking up to eat around 4 or 5 in the morning.

04/19/2005: Today, Shannon and I took Summer for her one month checkup and she is doing wonderful. She weighed 9 lbs 14 ounces and is now 21 and a half inches long.

Summer is now smiling and following people around the room. She loves to watch your face as you talk to her!
