Louisville is still in the running to add a graduate transfer for 2017-2018.

By now, most Louisville fans are familiar with the name Mark Alstork. Alstork, a graduate transfer from Wright State, has elected to play his final season of college eligibility elsewhere, and the Cardinals are a potential landing spot for the guard.

Alstork will get a closer look at Rick Pitino’s program in a couple weeks.

Alstork originally opted to put his name in the NBA draft. However, since he did not hire an agent, he was still eligible to return to college for his final season. He ultimately decided that this route was a better decision for him as a few days after he declared for the NBA, Alstork announced that he’d return to college as a graduate transfer.

LSU, Georgetown, Illinois, Pittsburgh, and South Carolina are other programs that Alstork is also considering.

Alstork will more than likely make his decision based off of whatever sophomore guard Donovan Mitchell decides to do, as Alstork would take over Mitchell’s spot. Mitchell, Louisville’s star sophomore guard, announced he would enter his name in the NBA draft, but not hire an agent. He could still return, and has until May 24th to make a decision about his future career. Currently, Draft Express has Mitchell being selected with the 20th pick to the Portland Trailblazers in this year’s draft.
