Wake Forest: 2017 Quarterback Tayvon Bowers Commits to Wake Forest

The Deacs have their quarterback for the 2017 recruiting class.

The Wake Forest football program has its quarterback for the 2017 recruiting class. Tayvon Bowers of Bishop McDevitt in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania announced on Wednesday evening that he has committed to Wake Forest University. Bowers is listed anywhere between 6'0" and 6'2" and is listed at 215 pounds. 247 Sports rates him as a 3-star recruit, and he chose Wake Forest over Rutgers.

Bowers completed 233 of his 385 passing attempts (60.5%) last season for 3,576 yards, 42 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He also ran the ball 93 times for 395 yards and 3 touchdowns. Due to his strong numbers he was named 1st team all state in Pennsylvania. He was surrounded by a lot of talent at Bishop McDevitt. Last season he was was throwing to receivers who signed with Virginia, Bowling Green, and Boston College.

Wake Forest now has 6 commits in the 2017 recruiting class. Wake Forest has the 47th best class in the country and the 10th best in the ACC, according to 247 Sports.
