Tyler Cameron No Longer On Wake Forest Football Team, Transfer Likely

And then there were two.

Wake Forest Head Football Coach Dave Clawson announced at his weekly press conference that redshirt sophomore quarterback Tyler Cameron is no longer on the team, and will likely transfer at the end of the season. Wake Forest is now down to just two scholarship quarterbacks in John Wolford and Kevin Sousa.

Cameron appeared in a total of six games during his Wake Forest career and completed 17 of his 40 passing attempts (42.5%) for 140 yards, 0 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Cameron was highly regarded out of high school, and chose Wake Forest over a host of schools including Purdue and UCLA.

Tyler Cameron will have two years of eligibility remaining after this season, but has already redshirted once during his career. Given that circumstance, it's likely that Cameron will opt to transfer to an FCS program where he can play on the field for two years, as opposed to having to waste a year of eligibility redshirting at an FBS program.

We wish Tyler the best in the future.
