According to Tennessee site, Volquest(via Clay Travis on Twitter), Larry Fedora's name has surfaced in the coaching search at Tennessee with reports that he will interview with the Volunteers today. Fedroa's name is being mentioned along with Louisville's Charlie Strong and Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy as potential replacements for recently fired coach Derek Dooley.

So what, if anything, does this mean? For starters this could simply be Fedora interviewing for the sake of doing so. There is something to be said for going through the process and also hearing what Tennessee has to say. For all we know, Tennessee might make that offer Fedora simply cannot refuse he leaves. After all, college coaching is a mercenary business and UNC's program sits on a tier that brings in solid coaches but also see those same coaches leave for a bigger job in the SEC.

In my opinion, I don't see Fedora leaving unless he gets promised the world. Even then, UT is a bit of a mess right now and as Andrew Carter astutely points out, if Fedora had wanted an SEC job, he could have taken the Texas A&M job last year in his hometown. There are also indications Strong and Gundy are ahead of Fedora in the order of preference so we are probably still two or three moves away from this being something to really worry about. Still, don't be shocked if this ends with Fedora getting a little extra time and cash out of UNC just to make sure Fedora is happy.

As for what happens if Fedora does leave? Let's just say the talent pool of good coaches is pretty thin at this stage leaving Bubba Cunningham scrambling a bit to fill the job. Since that takes up to a dark and terrible place, we can jump off that bridge when we get to it.
