Devin Street expects to play against Old Dominion

We've been over the Kyshoen Jarrett hit on Devin Street quite a bit in the comments, so I'm not going to rehash much of that. The tl;dr version is that the hit was declared legal and even though I personally think there was some contact with the helmets, the hit was largely a shoulder to shoulder hit.

Street took some time getting up off the field after the play and if you saw it, it didn't look good for him. But the wide receiver said in the aftermath that he won't miss any time:

“He's hurting a little bit,” coach Paul Chryst said. “I talked to him real quick. (He said) kind of what you want your guys to say, ‘I'll be back and be ready for next week.'

We'll see how the rest of the week goes, but if that holds true, it's a great thing for the Panthers. Street is not only a big weapon, but his presence will help defenses keep from focusing on freshman Tyler Boyd too much.

If Street is able to play against Old Dominion, he should break the school record for most receptions in a career and it will be a bonus for it to happen at a home game. He needs only two catches to surpass Latef Grim as the school's all-time leader and if he's on the field on Saturday, it should happen then.
