Syracuse Kicker Ross Krautman Done For The Season

There's been a concern hanging over Syracuse Orange starting kicker Ross Krautman ever since it was revealed he had a nagging Lower Body Injury. That concern was that he was going to miss more than a couple games. And that concern bore true when it was announced that Das Boot's season was Das Done.

Kicker Ross Krautman will miss the remainder of the 2013 season due to a hip-related injury that requires surgery, Syracuse announced Sunday.

Krautman, a senior who has been Syracuse's starter each of the past three seasons and won the job again this year, was sidelined the last two weeks as he sought multiple opinions on an injury that bothered him for most of his career.

Das Boot is eligible to apply for a medical hardship waiver. Otherwise, his SU career will be done. Krautman is currently third on the school list in FGs (49) and fifth in points (257). However, it did become clear in recent weeks that something was off about his game, and now we know why.

In his stead, Ryan Norton will continue handling kicking duty. He's 1-of-2 on field goals and 4-of-5 on XPs this season.
