It's pretty fair to say year number one under Mark Gottfried was a big success, although that didn't come until the end of the season. For most of the season, there wasn't a ton of change from recent seasons. The Wofpack were a bubble team until March came along, when they won four in a row before losing in the semifinals in the ACC Tournament to UNC. The Wolfpack were in as an 11 seed and made it in to the Sweet Sixteen before barely losing to Kansas. The Wolfpack finished 24-13 on the season.

Who Stood Out:C.J. Leslie became one of NC State's most consistent players over the course of the season. Leslie scored in double digits in the last 16 games of the season. Leslie led the team in scoring, blocks, and field goal shooting, along with being second in rebounding.

Looking Ahead: There are a couple of key players leaving. C.J. Williams, who averaged over 10 points per game, graduated, and DeShawn Painter decided to transfer. But the three incoming freshmen are highly touted. Rodney Purvis leads the trio, according to most recruiting services. He'll play at shooting guard. T.J. Warren is another highly touted recruit who will play small forward, and Tyler Lewis is in to play point guard.

Early Prediction: There's a lot to like here. All of the main parts are back this year, and with the freshmen coming in, this team is going loaded with depth. And with a lot of the usual suspects in the ACC expected to be down this year, there's reason to believe that the Wolfpack could be the team to beat this year.
