Two games on the ACC schedule tonight as Virginia Tech hosts FSU and UNC hosts Miami. In the 7 o'clock game, we have two 0-1 teams that need a win. Virginia Tech specifically cannot afford a home loss after losing to Wake Forest this past weekend. The thing to watch in this one is effective FG%. Who can make shots? Both of these teams have struggled at times to knock down shots consistently. I'm betting you'll see some zone from both teams in this one.
In the 9 PM game, UNC hosts the Miami Hurricanes. If UNC comes out with the intensity they had against BC, then I like Miami's chances. Jim Larranaga has his guys playing hard and they want to beat you down the floor every time. Miami will need to get their shooters going early, while UNC needs to play aggressively decisive. Push the ball and take what Miami gives you. In particular, Tyler Zeller can get some easy baskets by beating Reggie Johnson down the floor. Make the big man run as he's still getting back into shape. This should be a fun one, with a lot of running from both teams.
