DeVante Parker is out six to eight weeks after breaking a bone in his foot. Michael Dyer is doubtful for the opener as his quad contusion is healing more slowly than coaches had hoped.

Louisville could be without not one, but two, of its best skill position players when it takes the field against Miami. At his first game week press conference of the 2014 season, Bobby Petrino announced wide receiver DeVante Parker will be out 6-8 weeks with a broken bone in his toe. Parker is currently in North Carolina with specialist Dr. Robert Anderson who will perform surgery on the broken bone. His return would likely come around the time Louisville prepares for the tough, back half of its schdeule that features games against Florida State, Notre Dame, and Clemson.

Petrino said today that losing Parker changes the gameplan for Miami but he doesn't feel it limits what they'll attempt to do on offense. On the newly released depth chart, Louisville lists James Quick, Eli Rogers, and Kai De La Cruz as the starting receivers.

In addition to Parker being out, Petrino said running back Michael Dyer is not progressing in his recovery from a deep thigh bruise. He said Dyer hasn't been practicing and still has swelling around the bruise. Petrino said the next two days would be big in determining whether or not Dyer plays in next Monday night's opener against Miami. Dyer is currently listed second on the newly released depth chart behind Dominique Brown. If Dyer can't go, Louisville would likely divide the carries between Brown and true freshman LJ Scott.
