Pitt routs Atlantis All-Stars on way to dominant sweep in Bahamas

Pitt's trip to The Bahamas concluded on Wednesday with a dominant 124-53 win over the Atlantis All-Stars. Cam Wright led the team in scoring with 22 points, playing only 18 minutes, and was 10-15 from the field.

With the victory, the Panthers finished their trip with a perfect 4-0 record and were never truly challenged. Pitt winning every game is hardly a surprise - in fact, a loss would have triggered a great deal of worry in advance of the regular season. What may have been a little surprising, though, was the dominant fashion Pitt won their games.

The Panthers didn't only win their games comfortably - some were downright ugly.

The closest margin of victory was 39 points against both the Pyramid Food Rockets and the Street Legends All-Stars. Pitt defeated The Bahamas All-Star team by 54 and defeated the Atlantis All-Stars by a whopping 71 points. Consider this - the Panthers' margin of victory in that final game not only was more than their opponent scored, but by 18 points more.

Add it all up, and Pitt won their games by an average of 50.8 points per game.

I'm a little surprised the Panthers had such an easy time of things. Not because the teams they faced were particularly good, but just because of all of the youth and some of the new players on the team. I said it before, but this was partially a feeling out process to allow the team to get some experience playing with each other a bit more. And when you factor in the distraction of playing in The Bahamas, which made this a borderline vacation, it was pretty impressive to see them play so focused.

Great job all around.
