Pitt rolls to another easy win in The Bahamas

Another day, another win in paradise.

Pitt rolled to another easy win in their Bahamas trip. Although the score does not indicate it, the Panthers had to work a little harder in this one - for a little bit. The Street Legends All-Stars and the Panthers were tied up at 19 after one quarter, before Pitt asserted themselves the rest of the way en route to a 94-55 win.

Some did expect this game to be slightly more difficult than the first two as the Street Legends hung with Ole Miss yesterday. Pitt is better than Ole Miss, so while the game did appear to be tougher, Pitt was able to soundly win the game. Jamie Dixon went back to the startling lineup from the first game, so we can run down how everyone did.

-- James Robinson finished with 11 points on 5-7 shooting from the field. He also contributed 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Robinson had a shaky first game, but responded how you would expect a third year starting point guard would.

-- Cam Wright finished with 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Wright took the most shots on the team today as he was 5-12 from the floor. We have been mentioning all Summer that Wright has seemingly elevated his game in a lot of ways, and his play continues to show that.

-- Chris Jones got the start and had a very forgettable stat line as he was just 3-10 from the floor for 7 points. A lot has been talked about Jones being healthy in regards to his thumb, and that his shooting would take a big step forward. He's played well at times, but this was not one of his better days. Still early, nothing to be overly concerned with just yet.

-- Mike Young posted 11 points and 5 rebounds. Young shot 4-6 from the field, and was a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line. Young has been very efficient in his trip to The Bahamas as he has shot 19-25 overall in three games.

-- Derrick Randall did exactly what this team needs him to do, and that is make the shots he takes (since there won't be many) and rebound the basketball. He recorded 11 rebounds and shot 3-4 for 6 points. Randall has a big leg up on Haughton right now for the starting center job.

-- Josh Newkirk had 10 points and 5 assists, but for the second straight game he posted 5 turnovers. Obviously he needs to limit the mistakes. He was 4-4 from the free throw line and came up with 4 rebounds, so for the most part he played well.

-- Jamel Artis had a quiet posting of 5 points and 3 rebounds in only 13 minutes of game action, which was the lowest total among the regulars.

-- Sheldon Jeter had just 5 points on 2-8 shooting and only 2 rebounds. Jeter has been good on this trip, but this was a down game for sure.

-- Joe Uchebo continues to do good things as he grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the team, and scored 10 points. We are still uncertain the size on these teams, but Joe has done it all Summer long. He has to be working his way into a role on this team.

-- Cam Johnson was 4-4 from the free throw line, and those were his only points. Johnson was 0-6 from the field. His best chance of playing this year is to come in and make outside shots and today he was unable to do that.

-- Ryan Luther had 8 points and 8 rebounds in what was one of his best performances all Summer.

The Panthers wrap up their mini excursion to the Caribbean tomorrow with a 7:00 start against the Atlantis All-Stars.
