Syracuse: Chris McCullough Qualifies Academically

The five-star recruit will be on campus shortly to start his college career.

Ever since Chris McCullough committed to play for the Syracuse Orange next season, SU fans have been eagerly-anticipating his arrival. Even Jim Boeheim can't contain his enthusiasm for the power forward.

Of course, we forgot to double-check and make sure McCullough was actually going to qualify academically. We've been on panic-watch ever since we heard there's a chance he might not, despite the various people saying Chris was on track.

While we don't know officially, Donna Ditota has a good-enough source to go to print with the news that McCullough did indeed achieve a qualifying score on his ACT and will be on campus this summer to start preparing.

"I know I did pretty good," he said. "I studied hard and had a tutor to help me."

The source, who is close to the McCullough situation, said McCullough received those test scores yesterday.

"He's really excited," the source said.

So there you go. You can buy those Final Four tickets now.

Meanwhile, McCullough will be playing in the Mary Kline Classic this weekend, where he'll hopefully be gaining a new teammate.
