The sophomore forward is projected anywhere between 15th and 25th in most 2014 NBA Draft mock drafts.

And so it goes. Sophomore forward Jerami Grant is forgoing his final two seasons with the Syracuse Orange and going pro, per Pete Thamel. The official announcement is expected later today.

Son Of Harvey, Nephew Of Horace is being projected anywhere between 15th and 25th in most 2014 NBA Draft mock drafts. And both Syracuse.com and SI.com have spoken to NBA folks who think Grant has potential but isn't ready. Not that it matters when it comes to the draft, of course. It's all about potential. After that, it's up to the player.

Grant delighted Orange fans with scintillating dunks and strong scoring performances throughout the season. He finished his second season tied for third in scoring (12.1) and as the team-leader in rebounding (6.8). He missed two games during the season, one for academic issues and one for a nagging back injury.

Jim Boeheim seems to have been pretty clear from the get-go that he didn't think Tyler Ennis or Grant were ready to leave, but now both have, so it'll be interesting to see what his reaction is. If he even gives one, considering how well that usually turns out.

Fare thee well, Houston Jerami. Just do the Syracuse name proud in the pros. We'll be rooting for you on draft day.
