Top 2017 PG recruit Quade Green includes Syracuse, Duke among top five

SU’s still in search of its first commit for this cycle.

We say this pretty regularly, but the Syracuse Orange have yet to secure a commitment for the class of 2017. Considering the amount of players potentially departing the roster (at least three, and potentially as many as five), it’s definitely a topic weighing on some SU fans’ minds.

The Orange are far from ignored by top recruits, despite the fact that none have committed just yet, however. Another big name to list Syracuse near the top of their board was Quade Green yesterday.

Green, 247 Sports’ 24th-ranked player in the upcoming class, is a 6-foot-1, 172-pound point guard from Philadelphia (Neumann Goretti) lists SU along with Duke, Kentucky, Temple and Villanova as his top choices. Two of those are hometown teams, clearly, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re just there as a courtesy (especially ‘Nova, who just won the national title). He’s the third-ranked point guard in the class according to 247.

Just this weekend, Green attended Big Blue Madness at Kentucky. He’ll be on campus at Syracuse this weekend for Orange Madness (Friday) as well. He’s already visited SU, so the event will be the main focus of his time there.

Green has not mentioned a timeline for his decision. If he says he’s ready to make a decision around Monday or so next week, that would read as a pretty good sign for the Orange. We’ll have to wait and see, however.
