Out for the remainder of the season with torn ACL, Chris McCullough has been waiting for the swelling in his knee to go down so he was in position to have surgery on the ligament. Looks like this week is when it'll officially happen. And for better or worse, the New York Knicks are involved.

The surgeon performing the knee operation is Dr. Answorth Allen, Knicks' team orthopedist. Allen came recommended to McCullough's uncle who is friends with once-Knick Rod Strickland.

"I'm feeling good," he said. "I just want to get it over with and then come back and rehab. A lot of basketball players have knee surgery so I'm not really that scared. I'm just ready to get it over and start rehabbing and stuff."

Recovery from a torn ACL differs for the person but it's not unreasonable that it could take up to a year before McCullough sees the court again. That means, if he comes back to Syracuse, he might not suit up come November anyway.

Syracuse Orange fans hold their breath and just keeping hoping to see McCullough and Dajuan Coleman back in orange.
