The Syracuse basketball, with one recruit in the class of 2016, extended a scholarship offer to V.J. King, a top recruit in the class.

It continues to be a busy week for Syracuse Orange basketball on the recruiting front.

Class of 2017 forward Jordan Tucker tweeted on Wednesday the Orange had made him an offer. On Thursday, Syracuse.com's Mike Waters wrote that the Orange offered 2016 forward V.J. King a scholarship when Jim Boeheim and assistant Adrian Autry visited the high school junior last week.

King, from Fairfax, Va., is ranked 16th in the nation according to the ESPN 60 for the class of 2016, first from his state and fourth best at his position. He plays at Paul VI High School in Fairfax with senior guard and Syracuse-commit Franklin Howard, who plans to join the Orange in the Fall of 2016. However, King just decided to transfer to the school in July after two years at St. Vincent-St. Mary's in Akron, Ohio, the alma mater of LeBron James. The new duo has now been formed, so depending on how their relationship develops on and off the court, the Orange could have a nice advantage over opposing programs.

The 6'7" forward made the Ohio state tournament twice in his time with the irish and averaged 16.2 points per game as a sophomore while battling a wrist injury that sidelined him for part of the season. Paul VI head coach Glenn Farello, very excited about his new player's potential, saying there is not much the kid can do.

"He's a very athletic wing. He's very versatile. He's got almost everything. He has the complete tool-set," Farello said. (via Syracuse.com)

King played for the USA U17 team this summer that won FIBA World Championship gold in Dubai this past August. He also played for the U16 team in the summer of 2013, that also won gold in Uruguay.

He is one of four players who have received offers from the Orange from the class of 2016. Top 20 recruits Tyus Battle, a guard from Edison, N.J., and forward Harry Giles from Winston-Salem, N.C. have received offers along with Matthew Moyer, who has already made a commitment. The 6'7" forward plays at Lincoln High School in Columbus, Ohio.

The Orange will have a lot of competition for King, as he is fielding 16 offers from schools like Connecticut, Georgetown, Michigan St., UCLA and West Virginia. For now, fans will have to wait and see if the second King from St. Vincent-St. Mary's will choose the Orange.
