The coaches were busy after a long weekend of recruiting.
The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball coaching staff extended two new scholarship offers on Monday.
Class of 2018 four-star point guard Jalen Carey received an offer after Adrian Autry watched him play this past weekend in Virginia at the first Nike EYBL session.
247Sports ranks Carey as a Top 100 player and the 16th-best point guard in the entire class. He attends Immaculate Conception in New York City and runs with the Playaz Basketball Club in the summer.
A family atmosphere at his future school is the most important thing, Carey told TNIAAM. Developing an early and strong relationship with the SU staff could certainly go a long way to potentially adding his talents to the program down the road.

The other offer the Syracuse coaching staff handed out on Monday was to Class of 2019 four-star center Aidan Igiehon.
He’s a 6-foot-10 center from Woodmere, New York. 247Sports ranks Igiehon as a Top 50 player and the sixth-best center in the 2019 class.
The rising junior has been viewed as one the best rebounders in the 2019 class, and has above average footwork for a big man at his age and size. His strength sets him apart, too. He has the ability to finish through contact and plays above the rim very well.
His only other offer, according to his 247Sports profile, is from St. John’s. He does, however, have interest from Connecticut and Seton Hall, among other schools.

Class of 2018:
For the 2018 class — Syracuse is after a number of point guards. Frank Howard will be a senior, Howard Washington will a sophomore and the Orange will need to add some depth to the backcourt for the future. As for the forward position, SU will likely lose Taurean Thompson. The front court shouldn’t be an issue, but as you can see — Syracuse is after a plethora of guards and scoring wings to fill the future needs.
Offers: Prentiss Hubb, Jahvon Quinerly, Brandon Slater, A.J. Reeves, Robby Carmody, Cam Reddish, Louis King, Hameir Wright, Khalid Moore, Cole Swider, Simi Shittu, Jalen Smith, Naz Reid, David Duke and Nate Roberts.
Class of 2019:
The Class of 2019 is interesting because it’s still so early. Nobody truly knows how this class will play out, or what exactly the staff will need to add to the roster. The staff has offered some big time prospects in this cycle, though. And if you land a couple of who they’ve already offered, you’ve got an elite class. Syracuse should have plenty of scholarships to work with for this class, too — meaning spots shouldn’t be an issue.
