Shooting Guard Miles Overton Will Transfer From Wake Forest

Wake Forest announced today that sophomore guard Miles Overton will transfer at the end of the fall semester. Head coach Danny Manning said, "Miles came to me today and requested his release. We have granted him the release and wish him well at the next stop in his basketball career."

Overton stated, "It was a tough decision to leave behind a brotherhood that I had built with my teammates the past two years and to leave a fan base that has supported me and watched me grow. But after talking with my family, I believe it's best for me to leave Wake Forest and continue my career closer to home. I wish my teammates, coaches and the basketball program the best."

Miles played in 36 career games for Wake Forest and averaged 3.4 points per game.

Wake Forest needed at least one player from the current roster, outside of the seniors, to leave at the end of the season to reach next year's maximum of 13 scholarship players. In the short term, this move will leave Wake without a three-point shooter, but will give freshmen guards Cornelius Hudson and Rondale Watson an opportunity to play more minutes.

We at Blogger So Dear wish Miles the best moving forward and will have more information regarding his potential destination when that information becomes available.
