Pitt's two starting wide receivers, Devin Street and Tyler Boyd, have had excellent seasons thus far. Street is averaging over 100 yards per game and Boyd was not only named as the ACC's Receiver of the Week, but has made a ton of plays in the air and on the ground in his two games.
One thing worth noting, though, is that while tight ends and running backs have caught some balls, a third receiver hasn't yet stepped up. In fact, there's not another wideout on the team that has registered even a single reception. That includes the two veterans behind Street and Boyd in junior Kevin Weatherspoon and senior Ed Tinker.
That doesn't mean those guys will be unproductive this season, though. It's only been two games so far and let's be honest - how much do you really want Street and Boyd off of the field anyway? Plus, to be fair, the tight ends have been a big part of the passing game with Manasseh Garner, J.P. Holtz, and Scott Orndoff accounting for six grabs and two touchdowns.
Still, it's at least a little noteworthy that no other wide receiver has even one catch on the season.
