Malachi Richardson Schedules Three More NBA Workouts This Week

With the NBA Draft a little over a week away, the former Syracuse star freshman continues to fill up his workout schedule for NBA teams.

In exactly nine days, Malachi Richardson will experience the biggest night of his young life when he waits for his name to be called in the 2016 NBA Draft.

In the meantime, the former Syracuse Orange is keeping himself busy with preparation, looking to convince teams to take him with their first round pick.

Back at the beginning of June, Malachi's agent, Stephen Pina of ASM Sports, announced that Mali would be working out for six NBA teams.

Well, according to his agent in an article by Mike Waters of Syracuse.com, Malachi will work out for three more teams this week. He will work out for the Chicago Bulls today, the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday and the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.

All three teams own lottery picks in the draft, which will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY on Thursday, June 23. The Bulls have the No. 14 pick, while the Bucks and Raptors are both in the top 10. Milwaukee is slotted at No. 10, while Toronto will pick ninth.

Richardson has previously worked out for six teams: the Orlando Magic, the Utah Jazz, the Phoenix Suns, the Denver Nuggets, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Atlanta Hawks.

After being projected as a late first- or early second-round pick when he initially entered his name in the draft, Malachi is now seen by most recruiting analysts as a Top 20 pick. NBADraft.net has him going to Chicago with the final pick of the lottery.

How will these late workouts affect his draft status? It's basically impossible to tell. You never know for sure what will happen on draft night. Each passing pick has the potential to alter the course of the draft, as a team may select a player coveted by another team just a few picks later. That later team now has to adjust and move to one of their many (presumed) back-up plans.

Bottom line: It's a crazy night where young lives and futures of franchises can be changed forever. Whatever happens, best of luck to Malachi on achieving his dream.
