Malachi Richardson Schedules 'Late Lottery' Workouts

The former Orange standout already has six workouts scheduled for teams in the mid-to-late first round.

We figured Malachi Richardson's NBA Draft stock was mid-to-late first round, and it seems he does too.

With the calendar flipped to June and the NBA Draft coming up, Mali has scheduled a number of draft workouts, according to his agent Stephen Pina of ASM Sports in an article by Mike Waters of Syracuse.com:

"Most likely, he'll end up working out for nine to 16 teams," Pena said. "It depends on his schedule and the level of interest."

If the projections of Richardson going late in the first round come true, it could be very beneficial for him. With quality teams picking later in the round, Mali could find himself on a winning squad where he could find a distinct role in the organization. With teams like the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, and Los Angeles Clippers interested in him, Richardson could be a quality draft choice for a team that needs a player with his skillset.

But with the crapshoot and unpredictability that is a professional sports draft, one trade can change the landscape of the entire selection process. Richardson has been projected to go all over the draft board, putting him anywhere between the Pacers, Celtics, 76ers, Warriors, Nets, or Grizzlies.
