The Cardinals roster is almost at full strength

Today, Louisville basketball head coach Rick Pitino dropped some news about the team’s backup point guard, Tony Hicks, and the expected return of the Penn transfer.

When asked about when Hicks is expected back, Pitino responded:

"I would say by the Virginia Tech game, he'll be ready to play," Pitino said.

If Hicks were to return for the game against the Hokies, it’d be the first time in quite a while that the basketball team will be at full strength. Quentin Snider is expected to play tomorrow against Miami, though it still needs to be determined just how much he’ll play and how long it’ll take for the team to re-establish the chemistry with Snider.

Hicks was expected to miss around 4-6 weeks when it was first discovered that he had broken a bone in his hand after the win over Pitt. However, after it was determined that he would not need surgery, the timetable was brought down to the 2-4 weeks area. In 16 games played, Hicks has averaged 4.6 ppg, 1.4 rpg, and 1.1 apg while playing an average of 12 minutes a game. Despite these lackluster numbers, Hicks was really starting to come along when given the opportunity for more playing time when Snider went out.

Guys are coming back just in time to make a run in the ACC and NCAA tournament.
