Louisville running back/return man Corvin Lamb had surgery to repair a torn ACL Wednesday morning, and will miss the rest of the 2014 season. The redshirt junior missed nearly all of 2013 when he tore the ACL in his other knee.
Lamb had carried the ball just five times for eight yards this season, but the speedster made his biggest mark on special teams, where he took a kickoff 97 yards to the house in the season-opener against Miami.
Lamb was thrust into action as a redshirt freshman in 2012 after leading rusher Senorise Perry tore his ACL in Louisville's loss at Syracuse. He took a screen pass 53 yards for a touchdown in that game, and also carried the ball six times for 37 yards in U of L's dramatic regular season-ending win over Rutgers.
