Parnell will be headed to Southern Miss.
It looks like the cornerback depth chart is going to be short one man when fall camp rolls around. Backup cornerback Devontre Parnell announced that he is transferring to Southern Mississippi. Parnell earned his bachelors degree last month, so he will be able to play immediately for Southern Miss (I wonder how Dakich feels about this?).
Devontre Parnell, originally from Winnsboro, SC, and was a composite 3-star prospect. He chose the Cards over other offers from Connecticut, East Carolina, Illinois, Kentucky, N.C. State, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest.
Parnell's playing time while with the Cardinals was limited throughout his career with the team due to various injuries. He appeared in just one game last season and a total of four in his time as a Cardinal while tallying up 4 tackles in 2014. He did spend spring practice with the team, but didn't see first-team reps.
Best of luck to Parnell at Southern Mississippi.
