LSU running back and Heisman candidate Leonard Fournette displayed his respect for the history of Syracuse University via Twitter and post-game interviews.

Prior to the Syracuse Orange suiting up against the 8th ranked LSU Tigers, not everyone had good things to say about the Orange. (Ahem, Kirk Herbstreit). Leonard Fournette, however, paid tribute to Syracuse's history of great running backs on his Twitter account before the game.

According to Syracuse.com, Fournette continued to be complimentary of Syracuse's tradition in the post-game interviews. Fournette said he looked up to Syracuse greats Floyd Little and Jim Brown, and that Syracuse was the original "Running Back U".  He also said he looked up to Ernie Davis after having watched "The Express," which came out when Fournette was 13 years old.

Fournette also took some time out to meet with Syracuse legend Floyd Little who was in attendance for the game, per Syracuse.com's Nate Mink. After meeting the Heisman hopeful, Little said that Fournette is "just as good a person as his is a player, and when you have those two things together, you just can't miss. I told him I'll see him in New York for the Heisman."
