Over the weekend, Chris gave Lamar Patterson our site's Panther of the Week award as the top Pitt player for this past week. On Monday, he got a slightly bigger honor when he was named the ACC's Player of the Week.

That's the second time Patterson has won the award and he's the first Pitt player to win a conference Player of the Week award since Sam Young back in 2008-09.

As Chris pointed out, Patterson just had another monster week. He averaged 23 points, five rebounds, and four assists over the Panthers' two games and Pitt just happened to win both of them. In other words, you could say it was a well-deserved award for him.

Patterson has literally just been taking over games for Pitt and he's easily the closest thing to a go to player that the Panthers have right now. On the season, he's averaging 17.9 points a game and also leads the team in assists.
