Kevin Knox recruiting: Five-star wing will likely announce his decision this weekend

Where will Knox end up going?

After months of anticipation, the sweepstakes to land five-star wing Kevin Knox could finally be coming to an end this week. His father has been heavily involved in the recruiting process, and he is now stating that his son could officially declare with his team sometime between Thursday and Sunday.

Though Knox has knocked his list of schools down to North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, Florida State, and Missouri, it is believed that his decision will come down to either UNC or Duke. 247Sports has the Blue Devils as the favorite, but we will have to see how things go in the end.

The six-foot-eight, 205-pound small forward is generally considered to be a one-and-done waiting to happen. Knox is just too gifted to spend three-to-four years in college while he could be making a career for himself. Given the loss of Justin Jackson and Kennedy Meeks to the NBA Draft, and Tony Bradley looking to leave early as well, the Tar Heels could use the injection of talent that Knox would bring. Regardless of who they lose, he would bring life to the regular lineup if he were to be a part of it.

We know what people say about Roy Williams and the program not being able to attract one-and-done players for the last few seasons. There also remains the NCAA investigation hanging over the program, but North Carolina just won the National Championship and went to the Final Four two years in a row. If Knox is truly a one-and-done, the idea of being able to lead your team to another championship should be more than enough to lure him over to Chapel Hill.

What do you think? Where do you see him ending up?
