Pitt lands a junior college guard.

Jeff Goodman of ESPN just reported that Pitt has landed Crisshawn Clark for the 2016 recruiting class. Clark plays for Canada College in San Mateo, California.  He is originally from the Dayton, Ohio area before heading out West for Junior College.  He will have two years of eligibility beginning next season. Clark is a 6'4" shooting guard that averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists last season.  He hit 35.6% of his shots behind the arc as well.

Crisshawn Clark visited Pitt last week, and spent this weekend visiting the University of Oregon. As many speculated, his decision was to come down to these two schools, and it appears the allure of being closer to home prevailed in his recruitment. Clark also had offers from Saint Mary's and Nevada while also drawing some interest from a number of the PAC 12 schools.

Pitt's 2016 recruiting class is starting to take shape, as three spots are now filled. Clark joins three-star power forward Corey Manigault and three-star point guard Justice Kithcart. Assuming no roster turnover, Pitt now has one more spot to fill for this recruiting class. As we've seen recently, Pitt's roster can change over the next few months, but so can everyone else's. College basketball has been a free for all in the offseason lately, so whether Pitt wants to add another actual recruit or wait to see what is out there on the transfer market, they have options. At the very least, it does not appear they will be scrambling this upcoming offseason like they were in the last one.

Pitt's recruiting class is not great by any stretch of the imagination, but it certainly isn't weak either. Pitt is adding quality players with upside. They do not appear to be taking projects, but they do not have any highly rated guys either.  At a time, many of us thought this class would include Mustapha Heron, Maverick Rowan, and maybe even TJ Gibbs.  It did not work out that way, but Dixon has filled needs and has started to add players that resemble the type of guys that made this program so good.
