Is Louisville the 4th College Football Playoff team?

Based on what I’ve seen on the college football playing field, Louisville is indeed the #4 team in America.

Many experts seem to agree that it’s Louisville at #4:

Got to think more will come on board as Louisville wins the rest of it’s games. Louisville, however, is still on the outside looking in when it comes to the College Football Playoff. Why?

@TalkinACCSports and I have discussed this on many occasions.  If you’re an undefeated Power 5 team, you basically won’t be left out of the College Football Playoff (h/t @TalkinACCSports).

Louisville needs a lot of things to happen to get into College Football’s Final Four (Alabama and Washington are likely not losing – I also think that Clemson wins out)… the Cards would need two Big 10 teams, including Michigan and Ohio State, to take a couple of losses – and would also need a one loss Big 12 team on the board.  Then, if the Cards win out, they would likely get the nod.

My blog partner @TalkinACCSports thinks Louisville’s best chance is for there to be a 1 loss Big 12 and 1 loss Pac 12 Champion. It hasn’t helped Louisville that Houston has fallen apart in recent weeks. That is one of Louisville’s last marquee games.

But seriously – Louisville has the look of a College Football Playoff participant – they pass the eye test for me.
