Quinney is a 6-foot-5, 265-pound prospect from Savannah Christian Prep that held offers from schools like Appalachian State, Cincinnati, Duke, FAU, GSU, Mississippi St, UNC, MTSU, Southern Miss, Wake Forest and others, but Georgia Tech won in the end.

He made his announcement over social media on Tuesday afternoon.

“First of all I would like to thank God, my family, coaches, and teammates.  I would not be in this situation without their love and support.  I would also like to thank all the coaches who have recruited me throughout this process.  With that being said, I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at Georgia Tech!!!”

Georgia Tech has been a school that Quinney loved from the beginning and not only is it hard to find a school with a great football program, but also academically as well.

“I loved Georgia Tech from the beginning,” Quinney said.  “It is a great school academically, but it also has a great football program in the ACC. It's hard to find a school like that. I also really like the campus and coaching staff. I feel at home while I'm there and feel like it's the best place for me.”

With Quinney’s announcement, the Yellow Jackets have now secured seven commitments for the 2017 recruiting class and he is the second offensive lineman to commit, joining Connor Hansen.

Player Breakdown:

When you watch the highlight film of Quinney, one can see that he can be a force on the offensive line.  Once he gets both hands on you at the point of attack, it is hard to move him or escape.  He also looks to attack his opponents and finishes the play.  In the run game at Georgia Tech, players like Quinney can be key in anchoring the line.

“I feel like I'm very athletic for my size and versatile on the line,” Quinney said.  “I can play tackle, guard or center. My high school runs the same offense as tech so I already know a lot about it.”
