Early favorites for the Final Four

It's early, but never too early to look to March, right?  Over at NCAAGameSim.com on the rankings page you'll see the top 4 teams consist of Arizona at #1 followed by 3 Big Ten teams, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio State ranked second to fourth, respectively.

To give some credibility to the rankings, last season it had eventual winner Louisville ranked 1st for almost the whole second half of the season.  There are certainly other systems to factor in though when you consider predictions on early favorites for the Final Four.  You can always read more great NCAA betting news here

You can of course check out the full NCAAGameSim.com rankings here.

Over at KenPom.com, Pomeroy gives you a couple different teams.  Once again, he has Arizona at #1, Wisconsin is #2, but he has Syracuse third, and Villanova fourth.  I have to say it is good to see an ACC team represented in at least one of these.

A few others...

Jerry Palm of CBS has Arizona, Wisconsin, Syracuse, and Michigan State.  Check out his full bracket here.  Palm has six ACC teams represented in his bracket, including Syracuse, Pitt, Duke, FSU, UNC, and Virginia.

Joe Lunardi of ESPN also has Arizona, Wisconsin, Syracuse, and Michigan State.  Check out his full bracket here.  Lunardi also has six ACC teams represented in his bracket, including Syracuse, Pitt, Duke, FSU, UNC, and Virginia.  Interestingly, Lunardi has UNC as an 8 with both FSU and Virginia getting in at 10 while Palm had UNC at a 10 and both FSU and Virginia with better seeds.

In a recent article over at College Basketball Talk, Dave Ommen also has Arizona, Syracuse, Wisconsin, and Michigan State.  Ommen's bracket is a week old and had Notre Dame getting in as an 11 seed, so I'm not putting too much weight into the lower half of his bracket.  Notre Dame is a perfect example of how fickle the bubble can be from week to week.  A win over Duke put them in, but losses to NC State and Georgia Tech change their resume greatly.

Quick Summary

I'll throw out the caution flag once more, its early, and I think we all recognize that.  Of course, the so called experts have all narrowed in on four teams, Arizona, Syracuse, Wisconsin, and Michigan State.  The computers, namely NCAAGameSim.com and KenPom.com agree on Arizona and Wisconsin.  Game Sim stands alone with Iowa and Ohio State, while Pomeroy adds Syracuse and stands alone on Villanova.
