An interesting development.

Class of 2017 prospect Marek Dolezaj began his official visit to Syracuse on Sunday evening, according to CuseNation.com’s Mike McAllister.

As McAllister wrote in his article, Syracuse has minutes available next season. Dolezaj is scouted as a strong shooter, but more important a versatile player who can fill some needs next year’s roster has.

Not only can he shoot from outside, Dolezaj can get to the basket and get his teammates involved. He’s a solid rebounder, too, and his athleticism speaks for itself.

As for how this affects Syracuse’s interest in Jordan Tucker — it doesn’t. The Orange are still after Tucker, despite his offer from Duke this afternoon. With that said, the momentum that Duke is gaining in Tucker’s recruitment is legitimate, and it would be quite stunning if he were to choose anyone but the Blue Devils at this point.

Some other programs that are interested in Dolezaj, according to McAllister, are Vanderbilt and Indiana.

Being a foreign prospect, it’s hard to really understand his recruitment and who’s involved.

He’s unranked by Scout, Rivals and ESPN, and doesn’t have any D-1 offers, according to Verbal Commits.

The Slovakian stands at 6-foot-9, and weighs 195 pounds.

Here are some of his highlights from last season:
