Class of 2017 prospect Jordan Tucker to visit Duke on Wednesday

Not the news Syracuse or Georgia Tech fans wanted to hear.

Class of 2017 target Jordan Tucker will take an official visit to Duke on Wednesday and Thursday, he announced via Twitter on Monday afternoon.

Most of you know how this all unraveled, but if you don’t: 2017 five-star prospect Kevin Knox was expected to commit to Duke on Saturday, but he shocked virtually everyone when he announced he’d be attending Kentucky.

So just one day after missing on Knox, the Duke staff reached out to Tucker and extended him a scholarship offer.

And just like that, Tucker’s recruitment went from Syracuse and Georgia Tech, to the Blue Devils presumably the favorites.

Tucker will spend two days on Duke’s campus, and is expected to make his college decision shortly after.

According to the Syracuse University academic calendar, undergraduate students have until September 5 to enroll in classes.

Despite Tucker’s decision, Syracuse will continue to recruit Sid Wilson, Eric Ayala, Hameir Wright and Marek Dolezaj for the 2017 class. If Tucker declines SU’s offer, the others will become that much more important when looking ahead to next year’s roster.

And don’t forget USF graduate transfer Geno Thorpe, who is reportedly interested in Syracuse.

Syracuse currently has three open scholarships for the 2017-18 season.
