Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh will have one of the widest best case worse cases in the ACC. There’s elite talent on offense and defensive master mind of head coach Pat Narduzzi coaching his first year at Pitt. Other ACC teams get labeled a sleeping giant, but Pittsburgh is a program with the right coach that can easily be a perennial top 25 team. We find out this year if Narduzzi is the coach the Panthers have been waiting for.

Will Go 9-3 (6-2) if:
If Chad Voytik continues to develop as quarterback, and the defense takes a leap under Narduzzi. Last year Voytik showed flashes of being a quality QB. He needs more consistency, and should be aided by the best RB WR tandem in the country. RB James Conner and WR Tyler Boyd are All-Americans at their positions. J.P. Holtz is a legit weapon at TE. There are few ACC teams that have the offensive playmaking ability that Pitt has. Last season Pittsburgh had 6 losses by 11 points or less. The Panthers are far closer to being really good than you’d think. There is no Clemson or FSU on the schedule, and Louisville and Notre Dame come to Pittsburgh. A game at Iowa is a pivotal early season game. If they win that one, watch out.

Will Go 5-7 (3-5) if:
If Narduzzi can’t change the mental makeup of this team. Pittsburgh is a team that doesn’t know how to win. Remember this is a program that has had the likes of Aaron Donald, James Conner, and Tyler Boyd on it’s teams the last few years. There has been talent at Pitt. A few losses early and Narduzzi might lose this team. Games at Iowa, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and at Duke are all difficult. The month of November could make or break Pitt’s season – Notre Dame, at Duke, Louisville and Miami in 4 straight weeks. I can see 1-3 there.
