71 - 62 On Sunday, most of the ACC teams in action took care of business except for Boston College. Through 3 of halves of the Jim Christian era, things were looking good for the Eagles as they were showing a new commitment to defense. Boston College had won their opener over New Hampshire 58-50 and were leading UMass by 8 at halftime. Boston College started the second half with a few turnovers that turned into easy baskets for UMass which set the tone the rest of the way. Ultimately, the Eagels were the first ACC team to lose this season as they lost by 9 points to Massachusetts.
In other ACC action, UNC and Notre Dame rolled over competition. Kennedy Meeks and Brice Johnson led the way for the Heels, while Jerian Grant and Zach Auguste posted big games for the Irish. Virginia and Syracuse both managed to win big but neither got out of the sixties in the scoring column.
