CHARLOTTE, NC – Below is information on a number of initiatives surrounding the 2015 ACC Football Championship Game. For more details, please click the link in the title.

ACC-FStadium Policies

Mirroring what is in place for NFL games at Bank of America Stadium, a ‘clear bag’ policy will be enforced at the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and refrain from bringing any type of bag.

In addition, with this year’s game expected to have a capacity crowd, individuals are cautioned against purchasing tickets from unauthorized sources. Many counterfeit tickets may look genuine, but contain a barcode that is no longer valid or designed for another event. The Bank of America Stadium Ticket Office will not be able to assist fans who have purchased counterfeit or voided tickets with being admitted to the game or receiving a refund.

The sale of beer and wine to those of legal age will be extended to all ticketed patrons. The alcohol policy enforced by the Carolina Panthers at NFL games will be in effect for the 2015 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game.

The partnership focuses on improving reading proficiency and attendance, key components to raising the high school graduation rate for at-risk students. The ACC/United Way Reading and Attendance Challenge is the centerpiece of the initiative and includes area students and their parents or guardians, through local United Way agencies. Those children who read the most books or have the best attendance during the challenge period at their agency will be provided with an all-expenses covered outing to the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game and will be recognized during the game.

The Atlantic Coast Conference mascots will visit the winning agency of the ACC United Way Reading and Attendance Challenge on Friday, Dec. 4 as part of an outreach initiative for the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game. Media interested in attending the event should contact Marianne Schroer (mschroer@theacc.org).

For the 11th year, the ACC is partnering with the Wounded Warrior Project® to invite WWP Alumni and their guests to the game. The five invited WWP families will have VIP hospitality at FanFest, VIP viewing of the concerts and pregame sideline access. In addition, all five heroes will take part in a special recognition on field in between the third and fourth quarters.  This presentation will be followed by the singing of God Bless America by Frank Thomas, a retired first sergeant who served 25 years as a Combat Engineer in the Army. The national anthem will be performed by Opera Carolina’s Noah Rice.

Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Square

The ACC will join in Uptown Charlotte’s “Lights on the Square” festivities with the annual Uptown Tree Lighting ceremony, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3.
