Louisville's 2017 recruiting class continues to gain momentum through July. This time the Cardinals added rising Georgia wide receiver Josh Johnson who picked them over a host of offers from other power five conference offers.

Louisville continued to add to its 2017 recruiting class Thursday by gaining a commitment from Georgia wide receiver Josh Johnson. Johnson (5'11, 175) tweeted news of his commitment Thursday afternoon.

Johnson is rated a composite three-star recruiting according to 247Sports rating system. His recruiting profile lists him as committing to Louisville over offers from Boston College, Illinois, Kansas State, Rutgers, Utah, and Wake Forest. He is Louisville's 16th commitment for the class of 2017, one that likely will include few wide receivers since the Cardinals signed Seth Dawkins, Dez Fitzpatrick, Keion Wakefield, Devante Peete, Jaylen Smith, Traveon Samuel, and Emonee Spence in the previous two recruiting classes. Johnson recently impressed at Notre Dame's "Irish Invasion" camp, according to 247's Tom Loy:

Johnson's highlight video below shows he's a very long strider as a runner and is also a weapon as a kick returner. He is yet another recruiting success for new co-offensive coordinator Lonnie Galloway. Johnson also continues Louisville's recent success in Georgia. He's the Cardinals' fourth commitment from the Peach State so far.
