GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The nation’s capital welcomed the New York Life ACC Tournament for the first time in 11 years last March, and the high notes from five memorable days at the Verizon Center still resonate.

“The Other Supreme Court: The 2016 New York Life ACC Tournament” documents this past year’s Washington, D.C., experience. The hour-long special takes viewers behind the scenes of a tournament that featured seven games decided by five points or less – including two in overtime – and several thrilling individual efforts before North Carolina outlasted Virginia in the Saturday night title game, a battle of teams destined for NCAA Tournament No. 1 seeds.

The program debuts on ESPNU, beginning Friday (June 17) at 5 p.m.

Highlighted by extensive footage turned over to Colby Gottert and his team at Digital Development Communications (DDC) to create the storylines and handle the post production, “The Other Supreme Court”  offers a look at the drama and determination that goes in to winning an ACC Tournament title.

With narration by former Virginia standout and current television commentator Cory Alexander, the 2016 ACC Tournament story is told by players and their parents, by coaches and fans, and through radio calls from actual game broadcasts.  The viewer experiences the joyful celebration of a winning locker room, the tearful embraces that follow a season-ending defeat and in-depth analysis from, coaches in the aftermath of game plans both well-executed and gone awry.

Cameras go into the locker room, onto the court and into the streets of D.C. to capture the emotion and intensity as ACC teams vie for one of the league’s most coveted awards.

Viewers hear from moms and dads – some of whom made the short trip over on the D.C. Metro and another who ventured all the way from Alaska. The student-athletes tell their stories – Clemson guard Jordan Roper’s courageous comeback from a mild stroke, Miami senior Angel Rodriguez’s desire to give back to his home country of Puerto Rico, Notre Dame center Zach Auguste’s role as team barber, and North Carolina guard Marcus Paige’s debt of gratitude to his head coach.

It all makes for a well-told story of the latest chapter in an event that has set the gold standard for college basketball tournaments for more than six decades.

ESPNU has scheduled airings of “The Other Supreme Court” at the following times:

Friday, June 17 at 5 p.m.

Sunday, June 19 at 8 p.m.

Monday, June 20 at 1 p.m.
