Duke adds one final player to fill out the roster.

With 2 scholarships to play with head coach Jon Scheyer has added a reserve guard to the loaded roster for the 2024-25 Blue Devils in 6’6 guard Cameron Sheffield out of Rice University. The redshirt junior committed to the Blue Devils adding another proven shooter and backup guard to the roster. Sheffield was a medical redshirt this past season and has 2 years of eligibility remaining should be choose. Playing in 95 games in his 3 years at Rice, Sheffield scored over 500 points, shot nearly 37% from 3-point range and 72.6% from the charity stripe. Solidifying Duke’s backcourt, Sheffield joins probable starters Tyrese Proctor and Caleb Foster, and transfer Sion James (who has played against Sheffield previously – see videos below). He joins a transfer portal class that includes Mason Gillis from Purdue, Maliq Brown from Syracuse and Sion James from Tulane.
